MovieVox AI Movies & TV Shows

Information we process

• On-device data: your list, watch progress, notes, profile display name/avatar, notification preferences, and similar settings stored locally on your phone.
• Discovery & search: title searches and catalog requests are sent to The Movie Database (TMDB) to show posters, details, and trailers.
• AI Chat: when you use AI Chat, your messages are sent to OpenAI so the app can reply about movies, TV, and anime. Do not include personal data you do not want processed by that service.
• Advertising: we show ads through Google AdMob only (no other ad networks).
• Diagnostics: standard device/app technical information may be processed by Apple, Google, or our service providers as needed to run ads and the app.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

MovieVox uses Google AdMob as its only advertising partner to show banner, interstitial, and app-open ads.

AdMob may collect or receive identifiers (such as advertising ID), device information, and usage data related to ads, and may use this information to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads when allowed.

On iOS, we may request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. If you deny tracking, we request non-personalized ads where applicable. We may also show Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form when required by law (for example in the EEA/UK).

Third-party services

• TMDB — movie/TV/anime metadata and images. Subject to TMDB’s terms and privacy practices.
• OpenAI — AI Chat responses. Subject to OpenAI’s privacy policy.
• Google AdMob / Google UMP — advertising and consent messaging only.
• Apple — App Store, StoreKit review prompts, notifications, and system privacy controls.

Those services process data under their own policies. We do not sell your personal information.

Permissions

• Tracking (ATT): optional, used only to personalize AdMob ads when you allow it.
• Notifications: optional local reminders you choose in the app.
• Photos / camera: only if you choose a profile photo; images stay on your device.

Data retention & control

Local MovieVox data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes on-device MovieVox data.

You can reset advertising / tracking preferences in iOS Settings, and manage AdMob-related consent when a UMP form is shown. For AI Chat, avoid sending sensitive personal information.

Children

MovieVox is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided such information through the app, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of MovieVox after an update means you accept the revised policy.
